Mohamed El-Borai graduated with a Ph.D. in Computational Aerodynamics from the UK after completing his apprenticeship with Hawker Siddeley Aviation (Hatfield). German born, Egyptian, he then joined the Boeing Commercial Airplane Co. in Seattle in 1980.

 

In 1982 he joined Saudi Arabian Airlines in Jeddah to set up the Flight Operations Performance Engineering department and subsequently headed the Flight Operations Automation.

 

Five years later, in 1987, having held various senior positions in Flight Operations he left to join Airbus Industrie. Starting as Regional Manager Middle East and Africa of Airbus Industrie’s Product Support Division he reached the position of Vice-President Customer Support Services in charge of both the Product Support and Training.

 

In 2001 he founded Reliance Aerospace Solutions and while setting up the company, Mohamed joined Thomas Cook AG. as V.P. Airline Operations and subsequently was appointed Managing Director of the UK Charter Airline JMC (now Thomas Cook Airlines UK) and Board Member of the Thomas Cook UK Executive Board. He completed a successful turnaround of the airline during the difficult period between 2001 and 2002.

 

From 2002 onwards he has concentrated on developing Relaer where the income tripled in the first five years. 

 

In 2014, he setup Relaer D, based in Hamburg, Germany, with a focus on Airline Services.

An Aeronautical Engineer by training, Ron first joined Fokker as a powerplant and systems engineer developing the Maintenance Review Board Documents (MRB) of the F50 and F100 aircraft shortly thereafter he became Chairman of a Maintenance Working Group (MWG), which defined the maintenance programme by MSG-3 analysis method. 

 

In 1986 Ron Joined Airbus, in Toulouse, as a powerplant engineer supporting the CF6-50, CF6-80C on the A310/A300 and the CFMI CFM56-5 on the A320 engine programmes. 

 

In 1991 Ron was promoted to Customer Support Director overseeing all aspects of Airbus’ customer service for established flag carriers as well as start-up airlines in the Fare East as well as the Middle East. 

 

In 2000 Ron was promoted to Senior Director Customer Support responsible for the management of a combined team of 45 Customer Support Directors as well as on-site Airbus Representative teams at the airlines.

 

In 2002 Ron was assigned to Airbus China in Beijing, as General Manager Customer Support in charge of all Customer Support activities in China. Ron left Airbus in September 2006 to join Relaer.

Christophe has been in the industry for 30 years. He was involved with Panasonic Avionics systems for 16 years and his expertise led to him being involved in the design department of a range of Airbus programs prior to joining Relaer.

 

He specializes in Avionics systems and his activities ranged from Final Assembly Line Manager for 6 years where he lead a team to oversee more than 400 Airbus Widebody deliveries, to managing several A380 related projects prior and subsequent to it’s entry into service. 

 

Christophe’s aviation background also involves project management at Airbus Corporate Jet Centre and an Aviation Component Start-Up. 

 

Christophe joined Relaer in 2013 and brings a great deal of expertise in Aircraft systems and deliveries.

 

Latifa Derrhi,Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant

 

Latifa Derrhi will be supporting the team by managing all of the company’s administrative activities.

 

She joined us in 2013 and brings with her a wealth of experience dealing in quality and administrative functions.  Latifa  has gained experience working for engineering companies and more recently for SIXT and Ford as an Executive Assistant.

 

She is also well versed in customer relationship management. She speaks Fluent French and English, and is developing her Spanish speaking abilities.

 

With a background in Quality Management, she will further assist Relaer in becoming ISO 9001 compliant and maintaining such a status.

 

Rayan El-Boraï,Vice President

He graduated with a Masters in International Business from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Madrid.  Rayan worked on Maintenance Reserve business modelling as well as airline business plans. He was part of the team involved in a start-up airline in Africa where he prepared the business plan and held the function of Implementation Manager.

 

Rayan has been in charge of business development for Relaer since 2010. 

He has established strategic partnerships with various companies in order to broaden Relaer’s market reach.

His presence and contribution has markedly improved the customer base and activity portfolio.

 

Rayan is also actively involved in strengthening Relaer’s presence in Aviation finance activities. 

 

Furthermore, he has prepared the business case for Relaer’s sister company Relaer Deutschland GmbH.

 

Fluent Spanish speaker and perfectly bi-lingual in French and English.

 

Isabelle Ginestet,Vice President Administration & Finance

Vice President Administration & Finance

Isabelle Ginestet obtained a BTS Diploma in Personal Assistance and then graduated in Economic and Social Administration from the Toulouse University of Social Studies.

 

Born in the Aveyron, north of Toulouse, Isabelle joined Airbus Industrie in 1986 and worked in various departments including Press Office, Public Relations, Engineering and finally joined Customer Services in 1993 where she worked with Mohamed El-Borai.

 

She left Airbus Industrie in 2001 to become part of the team that launched Relaer.

 

Isabelle’s brings to the team a breadth of experience including Public relations, Finance and Budgeting, Law and Administration.

Kevin Mazeran,Technical Manager

Kevin Mazeran,

Technical Manager

Kevin graduated with a Bachelor degree in Aeronautical Maintenance and for the past 8 years has been involved and responsible for the engineering support and records review during aircraft deliveries as well as phase outs. Kevin is fluent in French, English and Spanish.

He brings a substantial experience in having dealt with various types of aircraft such as ATR72, A318, A319, A320, A321, A300-600, A330, A340, B737, B737NG and B757.

He performed the transition management of aircraft in Africa, Asia, Europe, Central and South America.

In addition, he has been involved in performing audits as well as project management, planning and risk identification and reporting.  In 2010 whilst working as a subcontractor to Airbus he was involved in developing a lease management tool for the Airbus Asset Management fleet.
 

Olivier Mettery,Vice President

Vice President

Olivier Mettery, a 31 year veteran of the industry mainly in avionics and communications, during which he spent the last 16 years in the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) business. Olivier was involved in over 600 A330/340 aircraft deliveries from a technical, contractual and financial standpoint.

 

Prior to joining Relaer, Olivier was Operations Director Panasonic Avionics in Toulouse, for 11 years and brings with him a good grasp of the requirements for customer’s Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) requirements.

 

He was also involved in managing a dedicated flight test team to support the A380 MSN 007 in the early long haul flights and the route proving exercise.

 

Before joining Panasonic he was working as a communications system engineer in the Airbus Customer Services Division where he was involved in the support of the A320 launch customers as well as the flight test department during the development of the A340-200 and A340-300 programmes.

Paul joined Relaer in 2014 having completed a degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical engineering at Toulouse University. This qualification was obtained in addition to his background in production engineering with particular emphasis on composite materials. 
 
Previously, Paul completed an analysis on addressing the problem of FOD on the assembly line within ATR’s Quality management department. This experience provides him the insight needed to address customer demands and will be put to good use in Final Assembly Line quality inspections. Paul was part of the team of inspectors on the first A380 delivery to Etihad. 
 
Paul is currently working on the Hamburg Final Assembly Line on A321, A320 and A380 deliveries for a variety of clients including Thomas Cook, Air Asia and Etihad.

David O’Shea began his career in aviation at Aer Lingus. After his pilot training with the airline, David went on to fly almost every type of aircraft the airline operated during his time there, notably Boeings from B737 through to B747s and on to the Airbus A330, accruing 14,500 flying hours.

 

Besides his flying duties, whilst at Aer Lingus David undertook a variety of other roles, importantly Training Captain for the airline and spells in management, including time as Deputy Director of Flight Operations.

 

Upon leaving Aer Lingus David moved to consultancy and auditing and qualified as an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Lead Auditor. In addition, David has held several flight management positions as postholder Flight Operations and Training, most recently in three airlines in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Simon Pipping is a licensed engineer and has extensive experience in both General Aviation and for the past 30 years within the public transport airline industry. He has held B1 authorisations on the BAE748, ATP, B767 and B747 for British Airways.  During his time at BA he held certifying and managerial positions in both line and heavy maintenance and latterly was base engineering  manager for the airline at Birmingham where he introduced 10 Airbus A319 aircraft into the fleet.

 

Choosing to  broaden his career Simon joined Ryanair for a 3 year period managing their extensive European line maintenance operation and started a number of new bases for the airline. 

 

Until his present position with Reliance Aerospace Solutions,  Simon has consulted on numerous operational and technical projects worldwide and is a lead IOSA auditor.

Following a Franco/German University education, he started in 1995 with Daimler Benz Aerospace in Munich in the Corporate Young Manager Programme (M&A, Finance, Marketing). In 1997, joined MTU Hanover as Manager Business Development Asia Pacific and in 2000 became Senior Manager Mergers & Acquisitions with EADS Group in Paris and Munich. He was especially instrumental in the acquisition by EADS of Patria Finland and of Australian Aerospace.

 

In 2003 he became the Corporate Secretary and Vice President Strategy - Member of Executive Committee of EADS Sogerma in Bordeaux, directly managing the Group's 4,000 staff legal department, international affairs and M&A. While working for EADS, the Group entrusted him to be a Board Member of three EADS subsidiaries, in Germany, France and China.

 

In 2007 he joined GECI International as Executive VP Business Development. In 2010 he became the CEO and Board Member of ESMA Aviation Academy (Montpellier, Ho Chi Minh city, Paris), a major provider of pilots and mechanics training, operating a fleet of 27 aircraft and managing a team of 130 staff including 40 professional pilots.

Since 2013 he provides expertise in transition management, business auditing/planning and international development.

 

Jean-Philippe speaks fluently German, English and French and is learning Arabic.

Claus has enjoyed a multi-faceted career within the aviation industry, having more than 27 years of aviation experience.

He initially started at MTU Maintenance GmbH, moved to Hapag-Lloyd Flug in 1986, joined Deutsche Airbus end of 1990, where he was the Project Manager for the first A310 Pax to Freighter conversion for FedEx. 

In 1994 he worked for Airbus in Toulouse as Deputy Programme Director for A300/A310. End of 1998 he left Airbus to join the Board of ASL GmbH as Vice President Base Maintenance, mainly involved in heavy maintenance for all Airbus types and MD 80.

Since 2003, and until joining Relaer, he was the Technical Director, Postholder Continuing Airworthiness Management and CEO/Head of Design Organisation  for Hapag-Lloyd Flug, now named TUIfly GmbH, in Hannover. His main focus was on productivity improvement and cost savings. In 2010 TUIfly Technik started to implement LEAN Maintenance procedures.
